Trying to hook up my Touch pro to send out bulk SMS, system seems to not recognize it

I have an Sprint Touch Pro flashed with a cricket rom. Trying to set it up as an sms modem for my PC. However when I try and find it, it does not see the modem. Now in one program something came up stating com3 and agere systems, but I wasnt sure if that was part of the modem hardware on it or not. Any suggestions?
