Is there a easy way to backup/restore the programs from the sd card. I use PIM Backup for contacts/messages etc. But when I keep flashing to different ROMS I hate reinstalling every program.

There are so many dif. programs ppl use such as sashami, sbp backup and so on.. the problem with those is the learning curve..just serach here you'll find em easy

Well we all know we can not or at least to avoid probs shouldnt back isht up from one ROM to another. However if I understand the OP question properly, I suggest SKtool for exemple will let you select several cabs at ones and run them in the background, that is a time saver...
