superCID headache in mtty - HTC touch pro

I followed this guide for superCIDing

"SuperCIDing

1. Disable USB in Connection Settings of Active Sync
2. Boot The Phone holding power button and camera button to enter bootloader.
3. Phone Will Display Serial in Bottom
4. Connect Phone to PC
5. Phone should Display USB instead of Serial in Bottom
6. start mtty.exe
7. Select All Default and Connect to USB in drop down box and Shoot the Following Commands (All Commands are case Sensitive)
8. run command rtask a : After this Command Phone will not Display any thing
9. run command echo_on : even though nothing is shown to screen
10. run command readCID : in Sprint it will display SPCS_001
11. run command writeCID 00000000 : Set CID Value to 00000000 replaces SPCS_001 in Sprint (This make PPC Radio Security Level to Zero)
12. run command readCID : This will Display the Update CID as 00000000
13. run Command retuoR : This will return to Original Boot Loader State
14. run command rtask c : This will Activate Phone Radio and then we can Access Dignostic Port and Set NV Items

Issuing rtask c Command Put the Radio of Phone to ON State so we can have Radio NV Command work properly"

I'm stuck at step 14. When I type rtask c, it gives me a "bad radio" error, and then promptly freezes. I'm using 0.25.COMNEX bootloader and all the commands work up until then. Also using a Sprint HTC touch pro.

So what radio should I use?

I have a sprint touch pro with me. When I try to run mtty, it says USB port can not open.
Any ideas?

sounds like u don't have the right rom on there to supercid. i know i had to use the alltel rom when i did this on my touch. u have to find a rom with a radio that will allow u to supercid.

did you disable usb connection in the activesync program?
are you in bootloader mode and does it say USB at the bottom of the phone screen?

i forget what # is the MFG SPL? thats needed for radio and NV access.

if done right you should get NV access, and well what ever you're going to do in there we cannot discuss on this site ;)
