How can I delete youtube?

Hey all,
I'm trying to delete the youtube application off of my Sprint Touch Pro. I just need it gone from the device or just messed up by deleting some key file so that it cannot be accessed. Youtube has files in the windows directory but those seems to be just temporary files that save past search preferences and the like. I need this particular function done for my own reason, not so save space or anything like that.
Thank you very much for your help.

Re: How can I delete youtube?

I'm running the stock Sprint ROM, and the youtube app comes with this ROM. I'm sure there are system files for this app somewhere in the device (duh) that could be deleted or tampered with to make this app inoperable.

Re: How can I delete youtube?

With a file explorer like resco or total commander, you should just be able to delete the program file itself, essentially rendering it inoperable, until your next hard reset. Why would you want to do this though?

Why donate to one person, when you can support the site that makes it all possible instead

Re: How can I delete youtube?

Yes I would like to do this. I understand the process on HOW to do it, I just need to find out where the system files for the youtube application are located on my device. As mentioned before, I found files inside of the "Windows" directory, but those files are only generated after you access the app, and only store preferences, search history, etc.

If anyone knows where the root of this program is located on a Touch Pro, then that is the information I need. Thanks again

Re: How can I delete youtube?

The exe file is in the windows directory as well, you need a good file explorer though. The default windows file explorer doesn't allow sufficient permissions to be able to delete files in the windows directory....

Re: How can I delete youtube?

Thanks, I was able to find the files, but here is my issue now:
I'm using Total Commander and when I go in to try to delete the files, it give me an error. It seems to regard these files as critical system files, does anyone know of any other method by which I could delete these files?

Try just deleting the youtube.exe file, and nothing else. If that doesn't work you can also try copying a shorcut to another program to your storage card, renaming it youtube.lnk and then copying it back. Effectively just making the youtube button run some innocuos program like the calculator.
