please help I failed an SD rom flash Ive read hundreds of pages

I've been looking through literally hundreds of pages for an answer..

I tried to SD flash, but apparently I didn't unlock it first. Or i didn't format in fat32 instead of fat. I named the file properly. It gave the tri-color rainbow screen and said security unlocked up top with
RAPH800
SPL-0.37.0000

everyone says reflash to the original rom, but I cannot connect it to PC i get connection errors. (i am using vista) I also cannot press the reset button and have it load, it hangs up right after the touchpro screen, with this on the bottom in red:

what do I do from here?

Okay running as administrator allowed me to use the update utility while the rainbow screen was on. Now the update hangs at 0%

Ahha I figured out that a hard reset was something new I could do (vol down+power+center ok button+reset) it finally reset and booted up! anyone else having this problem do a hard reset then u can reconnect to the pc
