Data Connection Drains Battery

I setup my phone to connect to my gmail every 60 minutes. The problem is that the data connection stays on and drains my battery totally down. Does anyone have any information on this or a way to stop the data connection after it finishes checking email?

Re: Data Connection Drains Battery

you should set yourself up to use gmail's imap idle protocol...you will get push email that way and save battery life...do a quick search and you should be able to find some more info...

Re: Data Connection Drains Battery

You should not be having data all the time you would see arrows going left in right all the time if that was the case. You only have the Data Connection on but only means that at the given time when it connections it uses the connection.
