The Juicy ROM Power Challenge

Good Morning,

I'm running a very unscientific experiment with the TouchPRO battery using the Juicy Juicy_6_090405H ROM. Just to see if it wasn't a fluke I'm going to do a one day test of how long it will last compared to the stock ROM.

Current settings:
  • Off - 3G/EVDO Rev. A
  • Off - Bluetooth
  • Off - Push WiFi
  • Off - Microsoft Direct Push
  • Off - Incoming Beams
  • Off - Haptics - Opera, TF3D2
  • Off - Update stocks automatically
  • Off - Update weather automatically
Backlight:
  • Off - Auto Adjust Backlight
  • On Battery Power Power - One to the left, 10s, 40s
  • On External Power - One to the right, 1min, 30 min
Phone was taken off the charger @ 0610.
I will report my text/Tweets, email, and phone usage.

For a comparison, with the stock ROM I would get around 6 hours before the battery was depleted with the same settings with about 30 minutes of talking, 80 text, updated weather and stocks 4 times a day, and checking email three times a day.

I think I got done with my workout too early this morning and needed something to do. Did I mention unscientific and there really is no point, but for my own satisfaction?

Re: The Juicy ROM Power Challenge

It is almost 2200, and I have 50%. I have gone all day without a charger and with fairly typical useage. I have not experienced any of the solar-nuke heat emanating from my phone as I would with the stock ROM.

Overall, this works just fine sans a few bugs that I can live with, the overall improved use of my phone more than makes up for it.

Re: The Juicy ROM Power Challenge

I think, for one day, we should all do this with whatever we are running and post our results. Thanks for sharing your findings, drewmerl!

I'm becoming a bit liberal with my useage now that I know the battery will not die by noon. At the end of the day I have two bars, before I go to bed I am down to one bar.

Since I have unlimited minutes on the weekend, I may try to do a phone call marathon to see what the toll would be on the battery with numerous calls at different lengths over a day.
