The best TP Alltel rom?

I really want to flash my TP to a better ROM and would like to know what other Alltel users are using? Another question I have is that *228 will not work for me since I live in a non Alltel market, so how can I activate my phone without using *228? If I attempt to use *228 I get a message that says my call cannot be completed and then hangs up.

*2 is not suppose to do anything on alltel. *228 is what you're after. There are many custom roms to choose from over in the upgrade forum. Most of them are multi-carrier so you can use it on any touch pro, and will say so in the first post, but others are carrier specific, so watch out for those. Conflipper is the only chef that makes roms specific for alltel. Mighty Rom is what I use, and I think his is one of the most stable and fast out there.

Sorry meant *228. Can't use it since I'm outside of an Alltel network.

I've flashed around 10 different roms in the past few months and never had to dial *228.

Knowing my luck it wouldn't work for me. Hopefully you're right... Trying to find a workaround just in case, and see what other Alltel users are using as far as roms go.

I've been using MightyROM's almost exclusively since 4.10. No need to worry about re-activating your phone. Just flash away & enjoy! Mine works fine every time!

Downloading Mighty Rom's 4.16 at the moment. Aside from unlocking the phone is there anything else I need to do before running the rom?

some people recommend doing a hard reset before flashing but it's definitely recommended to do one after flashing. Once you have the mighty rom on there, then click on Start-Settings-Sytem tab-Clear Storage, and that will do the hard reset for ya.
