Do we have the option. How can you tell if its on or off?
I know my friends G1 has the option, I dont see it anywhere on the Pro though.

Agreed! Shutting it off that way will only allow the GPS to be used for E911.

Re: GPS on/off?

Well not exactly what I was looking for. Is that the only way? Im just curious really because NueGPS has an option to turn it on and off remotely.

Re: GPS on/off?

And how much juice do we figure GPS location uses? And does it change when it has a lock versus no lock?

One of the reasons I was wondering how you turn it on/off. Im wondering about battery power it sucks up when IM not using it.

Re: GPS on/off?

I'm testing the 1.11.00F radio (and probably about to test 1.07.06) so I am trying not to change settings that would affect power consumption, which is why I asked. Otherwise I'd just try it and see myself.

I tried seeing if it made a big deal on this phone, hard to say really, cause there is no 'activity' reading to see if its got a lock or not. Now on my older phones, Samsung A680, M610 and Sanyo 8100 it made a difference with it turned off.

Re: GPS on/off?

What'd be really nice is if the GPS could somehow be listed in the Comm Center along with everything else like WiFi, Data Connection, Bluetooth, etc and turned on or off from there.
