Grey screen of death
 

Recently purchased the touch pro 2 weeks ago. After minimum usage, yesterday i wake up to see what looked like a dead phone. Apparently it was still on because you could tell that the lcd screen was on just not displaying anything. Ive tried a soft reset, taking battery out for a hour or so and trying again. I've looked around and its looking like my only answer is to reflash the rom. The only thing is that i want to back up my sms messages before i flash it. Anyone know of a way I could achieve this?

Look for mymobiler it installs over active sync connection to the phone without the need to click on anything on the phone end... after it installs the screen of the pda will show up on your computer screen. After you can see the screen use something like Pimbackup from dotfred and backup your contacts and sms to a file on the storage card or a place on the phone... after thats done if you don't have a mem card in the phone ise the active sync conn to copy the pimbackup file to your pc and then procede with the hard reset.

odd you just started this thread, im on a stock tp using hd port and the exact same thing just happened to me 2min. ago. never saw this in my life. hit the power button and was watching tv and looked at phone and was a real lite gray screen with nothing on it. barely could tell it was stuck on hit power again and s2 screen cane on so i did same thing and it still did it. i just softreset and thank heavens it went completly off this time. ill be watching for this though.

thank you went and downloaded my mobiler and its working so that i can see it not sure yet as to why i can't see it on the actual phone though. thanks again. and darren I tried a soft reset and it didnt work i tried taking the battery out and restarting it but that didnt work so idk tho

i read that wrong lol thought it said you bought the TP2 , weeks ago, lol
anywho that sucks hopefully it wont catch on like a cold. Damn Darren, i hope it was just a glitch and doesnt become somthing worse. good luck.

sorry op, i wasnt stating a fix, more of a odd timing that it just happened to me also kinda thing. moony, im hoping the same thing. i have a pro,diamond and 6900 and its never done it on any of them. the 6900 is old and been beat to death as in use wise. love that 6900 still.

i have the same three phones, the only time i play with the 6900 now is to play with android. and my diamond is more of a test mule to see if things will work on both the tp and diamond and also to play with the 6.5 roms that are out for it. i love me my pro though. oh completly off topic and OP i dont mean to hijac the thread but Darren have you been able to get the Anolog clock and backround for all pages to work for you. i know we spoke about it months ago and i just got it to work, if you havent let me know and ill post it up for ya.

oh my bad i might be confusing you with someone else, eh lol

im my searching i have found that The "greyscreen" problem possibly is related to touchflo. Turn it off and the problem is gone. So I think we have to wait for a fix from HTC for that. Its definatly software related cuz its on the same boat as the "Broken Screen" issue. also what custom Roms are you guys using? might be a program conflict within the Roms, just throwin ideas out there.
