Any more ideas for battery hacks?

I've heard of and done the battery reg tweaks, and for soem reason, my battery still doesn't last all day (and I have the Seidio extended battery). Is there sny more tweaking I can do to make my battery last the whole day? It lasts until about 6 in the afternoon right now, but is there any way I can make iot last longer? Thanks!

Oh yeah, one more thing. I can't turn off TF3D. I absolutely love it, and I really don't wanna picture my phone without it. So please refrain from suggesting this. Thanks!

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

You must have some app running in background, data session on all or part of day, beam turned on.

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

Why don't you just use your sprint oem battery as a backup?

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

Well, I was trying to avoid carrying around extra batteries... how can I control my data sessions so that they don't drain my battery? I haven't done any tweaks to the data sessions, so I assume they remain active for most of the day.

I rarely use beam, so I don't know if that's the cause. I'll try to close running apps too.

Thanks for your help you guys!

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

Have you tried flashing to any of the custom roms? They usually get way better batter life. Mighty's is pretty good. KK's is my favorite.

Have you tried flashing your radio as well? This made a world of difference for me. I get at least 1 bar better service, which saves battery. The battery doesn't have to work as hard. I use the Telus radio (but I'm on Sprint). If you've never flashed before, my sig has a link to my step by step.

I think you should give these a try, both will greatly improve battery performance.

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

I have flashed to Conflipper's about a month ago, and I'm still loving it, but I haven't tried flashing the radio yet. Which radio did you flash to, and do you know if it'll work for an Alltel Touch Pro?

EDIT: Oh wait, sorry, I didn't see your sig. I'll try those. Thanks!

Re: Any more ideas for battery hacks?

I would check the programs you got running in the background as stated above..I've tried a lot of battery "hacks" and non really worked.

I've only tried the Telus radio. It worked so much better than the stock, I wasn't even curious about the others. Also, when I flashed to it, I read all of the comments up to that point and the Telus one was the clear winner. Since then, it seems that the Sprint v1.11 is equally as good.

There is a poll about what radios people are using, it can be found here. At the beginning of that poll, the Telus radio was the clear winner. Now the new Sprint one has inched it out. The new Sprint one is equally as good (although I've read that the phone doesn't get as hot with the Telus one).

Most of the people on this site are Sprint users, and I suspect that once the Sprint v1.11 was deemed acceptable, that's the one everyone flashed to. Just fear of changing radio carrier names. It doesn't matter, these radios only affect the performance of your device, not the network you are on.

However, to answer your question, all of the radios in this thread are for CDMA networks (Alltel is CDMA, as well as its now parent company Verizon). You can flash to any of those. But as a more direct answer, yes the Telus radio (or Sprint) will work on your Alltel Touch pro. (*says really quickly at the end of the commercial: "GoodGets is not responsible for any damge or the bricking of your phone")

The step by step for the Telus is found in my sig. You may want to use my step by step (only 7 steps, pretty easy) even if you pick the Sprint one (although the folders will have a different name). You can't go wrong with either, and both are improvements over the stock.
