offical youtube app-how is it on your TP?
 

I thought this was note worthy news. I posted a while back that although the UI for the HTC youtube apps is great I get a conneciton error all the time, from the lack of response I assumed it was unfixable, anyways... her is an article on it:

Be warned, it overrides your HTC youtube, dont know if deleting the cab deletes the offical and keeps the HTC, will have to test. Anyways, according to the article the video quality is "very good", it is terribel on my, very poor quality. I even went over wifi to see if that fixed it and still no bones. What about you guys, what do you think? What kind of quality?

This is a nice find, but i think i'll stick with the app because i don't have any problems.

im not big on youtube.. just for trailers really.. and the stock app always looks crisp and clean on mine and its not even set to high quality..

Your right about the quality. It does seem to connect much quicker though.
how do i get the HTC youtuve app back? I can't seem to find the cab anywhere

The stock app works well for me, quality is fine. My only gripe is that I can't input my info and watch my favorites.

Mine always worked well "stock" if it"s included in the rom i'm using I believe...coreplayer also does it well too.

I installed the official app this morning, and so far...I am very impressed. Searches are returned much faster, and the video starts up quicker. Its pretty fluid and I havent noticed any stuttering while playing videos. I am fine with it overwriting the HTC app. While they both work pretty well, the official one seems to be just a tad more responsive IMHO. I think we can chalk this one up to pure user preference right now...they are both excellent apps.

BTW, I am using MightyRom 4.14

+1...I was really hoping they would allow you to sign into your own youtube account and watch your saved favorites, or save videos that you watch on your mobile to your faves list. Alas...this is not true...at least not yet.:protest:

wow guess I am really unlucky, the stock app gets connection errors all the time, same thing happens to my bro pro. He is on stock spring rom and I have flashed mine to juggalo's...

I still not getting good quality on the new app either... I give up lol
