Maybe an easy question

Does any one else’s data connection icon stay active at all times? When ever I go to the comm. Manager and I turn off the data connections button the data connection Icon goes away and then I go to the internet explorer and use it it comes back and then when I close the internet explorer after use, the data connection icon in the start menu is still active after all programs are closed out. So basically at all times unless I am using my phone my data connection Icon in the start menu is active. If this is common, does anyone know what data is being transmitted.

Thank you

It could also be that if you have email accounts active on your phone, ActiveSync would kick in and transmit data to whatever server it is set to, checking for new emails... Just another idea.

Re: Maybe an easy question

i use the long press to turn off the data connection. Start/settings/system/long press then just set it to auto execute and tap on the terminate data connection.

Re: Maybe an easy question

That does not happen to me. Do you have any programs that are constantly polling an internet location?

Re: Maybe an easy question

Yeah, mine closes the connection automatically when it's not using it. You shouldn't have it using data 100% of the time.

Re: Maybe an easy question

The only time(s) that my data becomes active is using the browser, if I'm updating the weather, or using WiFi router. Outside of that, I don't have this issue. I would suggest checking any apps running. This may or may not have an affect, but you can check to see if you have "Receive incoming beams" checked (Start - Settings - Connections - Beams). This could cause some activity, not to mention decrease battery life.
