Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
I noticed that after installing the advanced configuration tool v3.3 but Sprint Touch Pro became a little buggy. I uninstalled and everything seemingly went back to normal. Could this be because the configuration tool is made for the GSM version of the phone and if so, is there a CDMA specific tool out there?

Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
I, on the other hand, dislike Advanced Config. It's nice, but all it does really is change registry entries you could do yourself. The problem with the program is that it changes settings without your permission and without notifying you...
For example, while having it installed, it would make my owner information show at boot, no matter what the setting was via start > settings... couldn't turn it off, and I changing it in Advanced Config did nothing. I really just avoid that program like the plague for those reasons. If I need to make any changes that are in the program I can just make .reg files for it, and keep them for later and install them like .cabs. |
Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
I used it via a rom flash, and it made the phone extremely slow to answer incoming. It for some reason changes the dialup number for data, which then causes it to have a hard time disconnecting or "standbying" data when a call comes in. At least that is what I pieced together from various posts here. Anyway, I hard reset and haven't touch Adv Config, and all is well.

I've used it and have had no trouble with it.

Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
It's one of the programs I use on my Alltel CDMA phone. However, I suspect it made my phone buggy as well when I tried to use it to show my 3G toggle. I had to do a hard reset and use it for all the shortcuts I liked (minus the 3G toggle) and all is well again.
I think it's handy but I'm sure not all the tweeks are liked by using it, IMO. |
Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
Search for "advanced config xml" on XDA-Developers:wink:
And yes, it's because these tools were designed towards GSM-based devices. |
Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
Using it messed with my Pro, so that it wouldn't always pick up when you hit "answer". I had to hard reset..... I'd advise using with caution.

Actually, that is an easy fix. You messed with the connection timeout settings and it most likely changed the SuspendResume value for HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume to something other than #777 A lot of cooked roms have that incorrectly set as well, so don't be surprised if it starts happening again. The only registry editor that I know of that can properly fix it is Schap's Registry Editor (link here) |

EXACTLY what happened to mine....

Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
I had a few problems with it screwing up my volume controls and stuff. I never touched it again.

Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
Same here. I had issues with it numerous times. Even right after a hard reset. Goes to show that not all TP's are made the same!

Re: Advanced Configuration Tool-Sprint HTC Touch PRO
I think it's more of a difference in which settings are changed.
