Unhappy Help needed - frequent crashes on newly bought htc touch pro

Dear Friends,

Just bought a couple of weeks ago an htc touch pro that I am (trying to) use
in Romania - carrier Orange Romania GSM. I would lie if I was to say that I am satisfied with how the device performs as it crashes ferquently & unexpectedly HOWEVER since I am an (old) business user I would like to request professional advice from specialists like yourselves. Just to make a quick list of the most common issues besides the crashes:
* sometimes cannot answer the phone * device slow * cannot use yahoo go properly as screen is not refreshed * very poor ear & speaker volume * battery life max 1 day with moderate use * touch flow 3 d sometimes does not load on reboot * etc.

I have tried soft/hard resets several times with no success. I suspect that this may be an issue rekated to the software version that is installed on the phone so please see below the Device Info data:
ROM ver 1.90.401.1 WWE
ROM date 08/01/08
Radio ver 1.02.25.19
Protocol ver 52.33.25.17U

Any advice/guidance will be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Chirita Mihai

Re: Help needed - frequent crashes on newly bought htc touch pro

you probably have a lot of programs running at once. click on the task mgr at the top right of the screen.. the option to the far left is the one u want to select. it will close all the programs that are still running.

if your touch was freezing out of the box.. id get a replacement as soon as possible.. just be careful u dont get a refurb!

Re: Help needed - frequent crashes on newly bought htc touch pro

igot5onit makes a good point with checking the task manager. Having many programs open can cause the phone to become "unstable/unresponsive." However, this doesn't suggest anything about the poor speaker volume, or being able to answer the phone. I would suggest simply taking the phone back to the store you bought it from and tell them what's going on. You didn't mention anything about having flashed a custom ROM on it, so all should be well with just returning it. If they value their customers, you should get a new phone the same day.

All you need is a good custom ROM.
