Help me please with my HTC Touch PRO

Ok, I need help getting my contacts off of my HTC touch Pro (6850). But there are some problems that I ran into.....

The screen is broken on the 6850. My plan was to bluetooth the contacts over from the broken phone to the replacement 6850, but since I can't see anything that kind of hindered my plan. Also since I can't navigate I can't get to a download on the phone to sync that way.

Also, the Cellebrite at the local store can't transfer from this phone as its not updated enough. It wants to use infared but the machine can not do that.

And finally, I do not have the activesync software to load on the computer. I've tried going to Microsoft and downloading the Activesync 4.2 and 4.5. I can get them downloaded to the computer but then when I open it it says that I have to install and reboot. After I do that it tells me the same thing again. It just keeps going in a loop.

With all of this I'm cluless as to how to get my contacts off the phone. I really need the phonebook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Nicole

About the AS install issue.. try using the MSI cleanup utility to wipe out all traces of activesync and reinstall it. Are you on Vista? if so you'll need windows mobile device center. Once you get Activesync installed you can try to use something like mymobiler to see the screen. If you cant get that work the only recourse would be a TV out cable to see the screen on a TV.

+1 Raidzero, that is slick. You can have the store hook TP to their PC or get to another PC..Good luck Nicole, I know you can do it

Re: Help me please with my HTC Touch PRO

I've been trying on both Windows XP and Windows Vista. Is there one that is better with this than the other?

Thank you for the advice, I'm gonna give that a try and I'll keep updating!
