That is a light sensor that can be set to automatically adjust the brightness of your screen based on the ambient light. It will also turn the screen off when you place the phone next to your ear during a call (it detects it getting darker by your face)

thats the light sensor in the phone it will make the phone go brighter and dimmer depending on the light setting around your phone

Damn, that's just amazing. Maybe they could put a sensor in that checks my mood and locks out certain numbers in my contacts list. That would help keep me out of trouble.

yankees, why be mean? i overherd a sprint employee say it was the front camera to a customer. nice that you posted the link but the doh!!! wasnt called for.the ops pretty new.

I'm not being mean. Some of the other replies to dupe posts are mean. I just said "doh!" because this has been a post like 5 times now, at least.
I'm also a little disappointed to hear that a Sprint employee would say that it was a camera, that's just wrong in so many ways. I hope it was not at a "ready-now" store. lol |
