Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

Has anyone ever felt like its data speeds aren't up to par with previous Pocket PC data speeds? ie. the Mogul. It feels like I've been getting way faster speeds with my regular HTC touch and HTC mogul over my Diamond and Touch Pro... I'm located in an area with very strong sprint signal so a weak signal is not of the issue. I haven't done an official speed test but the differences are very noticeable...It feels slightly faster than edge on GSM networks but not quite up to Ev-DO Rev A speeds i used to be getting!! It's been bugging me for a while and just wondering if you guys think the same.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

Sometimes my data speeds are blazing fast and other times it's a crawl. I think it depends on the time of day (peak time) and where you are at the moment. I have mastered all the the tweaks I have found on here for Opera and Opera mini and they work! But if you hit that peak time, it doesn't matter what tweaks you have, it will slowwwww to a crawwwwwl.

It is just the nature of CDMA2000 EVDO. Data rate is adjusted according to signal strength.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

I just got a brand new TP. Speeds at the house seem to be about the same as my mogul and vogue. It is hard to tell for sure because speeds from the local cell change all the time. I ran one test and got 1.2down and 0.4up. 5 minutes later 0.8down and 0.3up. I can'T wait till my class on Tuesday night, the cells by my school use to give both the vogue and titan 2.2down.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

Personally my diamond and pro speeds are great, with or without a great signal. I have ran speedtests while tethering on both devices and I average 1.8-2.2 down and .3-.4 up on both phones, this is even with 1 bar or full bars. I guess I live in a pretty good area.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

I just ran a few tests, all fell between 1.5mbps and a little over 2mbps. I never had a mogul, but what I'm getting is faster than what I used to get on my Treo 700WX

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

There was athread awhile ago with the theory the Pros were speed capped.
Don't know about that but I get 700kbit/s download.
Went to the other side of town last week and could'nt even load a web page as the connection totally dropped.

Guess it depends.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Data Speeds?!

Yeah, it totally depends. It can change from one minute to the next. Sometimes it's 500 kbps , sometimes, it's almost 2 mbps.
