Sprint TP on Alltel

I just bought a TP off ebay. I'm wanting to use it on Alltel. What changes are needed to get phone, data and MMS to work? I succesfully configured a Touch a while back to work on Alltel that was Sprint branded. Will I basically need to take the same steps or are these two phones totally different? I have not recieved the phone yet but want to get prepared and set up to configured it for Alltel. I already have the stock Alltel ROM for it.

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

I was told that Verizon phones can not work on Alltel as of yet. I bought a Verizon TP and could not get it activated on Alltel. They said until the merger was totally finished that Verizon phones were not supported until then.

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

I also just Purchased a Sprint Touch Pro and am in the process of flashing to alltel. and as far as the Alltel/VZW not all areas are divested or non-divested so your tut doesnt help everyone..

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

no but it gives you a pretty good idea on what to do
the information, like the changes in mip profile etc can be found with a quick google though
foundation is the same even if details do differ...its just its not consolidated to cater to specific carriers
so you may have to do the leg work for the alltel information which is available
same as PRL
not sure on DMU but I wouldn't be surprised if you could google that as well...

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

I have this installed this on my device I have noticed slightly better reception like just 1 or 2 extra bars in most places also to install I took the link in the diamond section at ppcgeeks and changed the id from dia**** to raph800 and ran with herman ruu. and was up and running Care to share how you changed the device id of the nbh, or actually provide the nbh?

Re: Sprint TP on Alltel

for one thing I am going to ask exactly what you did because the post was a bit ambiguous, but from what I gather at some point you installed a dcd carrier cab and that led to increased signal strength in some areas...as far as that goes you lost me
what link did you get exactly?
further regarding running an alltel rom on touch pro, most if not all of the roms in the tpro upgrades are made for specific carriers...so I didn't have to change any device id or put a diamond rom on a tpro. Btw how is your keyboard driver working? To my knowledge just changing the device ID and a few settings still negates the fact you need keyboard drivers...
