Hardware keyboard stopped working

My hardware keyboard stopped working, I'm on MightyROM 4.12 and before I was on 4.11. I figured a reflash/update would fix it, but it didn't.
I've never dropped my phone and I've always been careful with it.
400 dollar device, hell yeah I'm gonna be careful with it.

The slideout keyboard rarely works but it still lights up fine.
Should I take it to the Sprint store or does anyone have any ideas on the problem.

If you have insurance they will fix it for free, at a sprint repair center, or just take it in to a sprint store, and they might exchange it for free.

Re: Hardware keyboard stopped working

Weird and curious that you should mention it...

I was running MightyROM 4.12 as well and my Touch Pro's hardware keyboard stopped working between when I went to sleep and yesterday morning. No indication of damage on the exterior (obviously since I left it on the nightstand), just no keyboard.

Very frustrating considering that the Touch Pro in mention was a brand new replacement for the last one. I've now gone through three Touch Pros. I'm on my second in the span of a month.

That's odd. Did yours also do some strange double and three-character input repetition the day/night before? I didn't think of it until now, but I remember it doing that just before I set it down.

I usually do double or triple inputs by an accident cause I'm still used to my Titan keyboard haha.

Gonna reflash to stock and take it in tomorrow.

Re: Hardware keyboard stopped working

Thanks for the links, sucks that it's happened a lot.
Ordered a replacement online instead of going instore, I realized if I do that, I get new batteries.

Re: Hardware keyboard stopped working

Try pressing down on the keys to the left of the space bar and the space bar. I do that when mine stops working and it comes back to life.

Re: Hardware keyboard stopped working

I just want to chime in and say that mine does that. Funny thing is that it only started once I started using custom ROMs. When it happened to me I was using Mighty ROM. The first time it happened I thought the keyboard was completely dead. I did about 3 soft resets with no luck and then I did a hard reset with no luck.

I then downloaded the stock Sprint ROM and the keyboard started working again, perfectly. I'd like to know what the hell is causing this.

Since then, I've put back the Mighty ROM since it's the ****, but even now my keyboard dies about once a week.

(I'm not blaming Mighty ROM, I'm just letting you guys know how it happened to me)

edit: After I wrote this post I took a shower for work and when I came out I tried to text my girl and sure enough the keyboard isn't working again. A soft reset just fixed it.

Re: Hardware keyboard stopped working

Mine did this last week too, and I was just running the stock ROM. I just took it into the Sprint store and they replaced the whole bottom half of my phone. The tech said "man I don't know what you did to it, I had to just replace the whole thing"

Its probably because i text like a beast!
