General Upgrade Question: Will Android work on Touch Pro?

Will it work with touch pro and when can we expect to see it? I hate windows mobile personally and im jealous the iphone gets all the good applications, but Android is going to stomp them BOTH!

Cant agree with you there. WM is way more customizable than Apple or Android. To answer your questions its coming. Some people have already been able to port Linux to the old Touch. So its a matter of time before it will happen for the TP. Check XDA, they have a thread about the progress of this.

Any particular reason why you have the Touch Pro if you hate WM?

Re: General Upgrade Question: Will Android work on Touch Pro?

when it compares to linux, i dislike all microsoft products. linux is superior

now that linux is out for the smartphone, i have a reason to ditch a microsoft product for something i deem better

i like winmo its all good but like i said now that a better alternative is available, i can say i hate it and move on

Re: General Upgrade Question: Will Android work on Touch Pro?

I agree with shaun. I love Linux on the desktop but Android is completely different. It uses the Linux kernel but the userland is pretty much made entirely by Google. Many standard Linux programs don't work or require a lot of hacking to put on. Also, Google has severely restricted the internals of the operating system.

You see "Linux" and hear "open source", but don't let that fool you. Android is very close to the iPhone in terms of being locked down.
