If he hasn't had a PPC before, chances are he'll go about a month before flashing...

I was new to PPCs and went nearly 3 months before I reflashed mine... but then again I got my TP the day it came out and there weren't ROMs available for quite some time.

As a tip, set up UC or Sashimi early! It's much easier to get it started then just add programs to it as you download them instead of trying to collect all of your crap together and compile it into one of those programs.

Re: New Phone

It's not my first PPC phone, it's my third actually.
Had the Mogul for about a month, then the Touch, I then went to the Instince (not a bad phone) but wanted to go back to a PPC phone, so I got the Touch Pro.

Like I said earlier, I don't usually deal with the various ROMS....I am not experienced in the flashing of them and I don't want to take the change of screwing up some minor detail that will brick the phone.

Re: New Phone

I must say, I love this phone.
I actually like the touch flow 3d interface.
There are a couple of things I noticed about it though, if I am using the on screen input for text I will using us the keypad with t9, but after using the keyboard, the keypad will be back to the alpha setting.
Also when using the keypad and the options of various words come up, on the touch using the "d-pad" would scroll through the option, but the TP it seems like it displays the next group of words....

Both very minor issues that does not make me dislike the phone in anyway
