Audible Player Question

Using the stock Sprint ROM since I got my phone a year ago, I've been able to fire up an audible book, then hit the power button, and the program keeps playing with the phone off, just like WMP will do.

Upgraded to the new OEM ROM from HTC, and now it no longer functions this way. WMP still does, but AP will stop playing when I turn off the phone. Tried installing the newest software, but no change.

Any ideas? I know there's an option to have AP itself turn off the screen after 30 seconds, but having to wait 30 seconds before I can put it in my pocket isn't cool. Nor is having the phone wake up for something and having it skip several chapters ahead. Nor is having to toggle the option when it's in the car cradle and I don't want the screen to blank. Is there a reg edit or something that can be done?

Re: Audible Player Question

My opinion is to grab a app that will shut your screen automatically without pressing the power button. Pocketshield is a popular one.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong, this is currently my method.

Hope this helps, GL

Re: Audible Player Question

Kinoma will play audible books and it works with the screen off. Not sure if the free version does, but it may be worth a shot.

Re: Audible Player Question

Did you ever come up with a solution? I just got an Imagio as a replacement for my Touch Pro 2. The TP2 would blank and Audible would still play the Imagio doesn't.

thanks,
Lenny
