Wallpaper "grayed out" on today screen?

Hey guys,

I switched back to the "standard" Today screen temporarily (disabled TF3d).
Ran into an annoying problem though.

When I specify a background, it is always Grayed out, for lack of a better word. This happens regardless of the image used, it always looks like there is a gray image overlaid ontop of my BG that is only semi-transparent.

Any idea on how to get around this issue?

You should be able to specify the transparency when selecting the picture for the background. If you go through Setting->Today-> Use this picture, it doesn't give you that option. You have to go into that folder or album and select the picture to use as background, then it should give you the transparency option

ummm, I do not have the transparency option.

I am going to: Settings -> Today -> "Use this picture as the Background" -> Browse (Select Picture) -> Then I'm back to the main settings screen. No Transparency information :/

If I remember correctly from my mogul days you don't want to add the background from the today screen. Instead go to the pictures and videos app and add the picture as a background there. It should also have a dropdown for transparency of the image. Adjust it to 0 transparency.

Do not use the today setting to select the background. Select the picture from the pictures and videos app or the file explorer. Then use the menu to set it as the background
