Installed program locked up TP, want to dump rom, and reflash dumped rom

I installed a program which is locking up my TP. SMS history from im-history.com. My TP no longer boots up past when this program starts up. I have no way to skip it starting (that I know of, if anyone knows of a way, please share it!). I want to dump my RAM/ROM, etc, and then remove the program from the dumped rom, and reflash the dumped rom, so as to not lose any data.

Is such a thing possible, and what do I need to accomplish it?

Michael

Place the phone in bootloader mode and reflash that way.

I don't simply want to reflash, I want to dump first, so I don't lose what's on my phone. I haven't made a backup in a while, plus it's customized just the way I want it. It's annoying, but as far as I can tell, there's no "windows mobile safe mode" unless you've already installed something ahead of time to allow it.

So, back to my original question:

How can I dump the full contents of my phone?

Michael

Plug your phone into your computer. Open activesync on the PC and the open Explorer from activesync. Navigate to \windows\startup on your phone and delete the shortcut for that program. Then reset. This should allow you to boot up your phone and uninstall the application.

Monocube makes a good safemode program. Its great. Of course it only works if you installed it prior to this happening.

You won't be able to do this unless you can get your phone to boot.

It does'nt look good in my opinion.
dumping your ROM isn't going to back up any info.
You'll need to do a hard reset to get the phone working which will erase all your info as well.

Try to connect to the PC as suggested, if it gets along far enough in the boot sequence it might be able to be browsed and you could copy the pim.vol.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, no go on activesync.

My main idea is a complete dump. However, I have a secondary idea, but unfortunately, I don't have the development tools to make it happen:

Using the autorun.exe feature of storage cards, I could use an executable which deleted/renamed/moved all files in the startup folder, as soon as the phone boots and detects the card.

I basically need to get an executable that will move/delete/rename all files in \Windows\Startup. Once I have it, I'll put it on my card, using the SDK method of \2577\Autorun.exe

Anyone have the development tools necessary to make this small executable for me?

Thanks,
Michael
