Phone not vibrating

Hello all,
I dropped my phone yesterday and the battery came out, but to my surprise everything looked good. No scratches dings or anything, so I picked it up and put the battery back in and noticed that it didn't vibrate when it booted up. Once the phone came on I soft reset to see if that would fix the issue, It didn't. Next I hard reset, and it still didn't fix. I was running a custom rom so I flashed back to a sprint rom and still nothing. I tried putting the phone on vibrate and calling myself and nothing. Everything else on the phone works. Is this enough of a reason for sprint to give me a replacement, free of charge or will I be required to pay my deductible. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Phone not vibrating

well you aren't the only one it happened to me like a month a ago just exactly like you i had the phone for less than a week and drooped, hours after i received a call and figure out the vibrating it wasn't working did a hard reset nothing worked, this was a replacement i got from asurion for my mogul i call them and said the phone was defective and got another brand new so if you have insurance take to sprint store and said the phone is defective and they will replace it for you at not cost

Re: Phone not vibrating

If the phone isn't vibrating at boot, it's most likely a hardware problem. You should be able to get it replaced.

Re: Phone not vibrating

I just came back from a sprint store and they told me that I would have to wait a week to get a replacement since my problem was minor. They said that as long as I can make and receive calls they won't swap me out there. They would have to order it. I'm going to try another sprint store tomorrow.

Re: Phone not vibrating

Is your phone charging fine? and the soft reset button working ok? I know that the TP has a ribbon that the vib motor, charging port, and soft reset button all channel through that attaches to the circuit board. It's actually really nice how that is set up with all 3 of those on a replaceable ribbon, makes for easy repairs, but you may only need that ribbon replaced? just a thought.

Re: Phone not vibrating

yes my phone charges fine and it soft resets with no problem. They said that all the sprint stores will tell me the same thing about waiting. Is this true, cause I don't want to waste my time going to another one. Would it be easier just ordering through asurion.

Re: Phone not vibrating

If you have ESRP, go to a store, unless you just have a 100 extra bucks to spend. Asurion isn't going to send you a phone for free.

Re: Phone not vibrating

I thought that $100 bucks wasnt until april. I'ma just try a different store and worse case scenario is I have to wait a week for a replacement.

Re: Phone not vibrating

It's still 50. Also, most replacements come next day if you get there and have it ordered before 2.
