Windows CE?

So, At work (Target). We have these really nifty things that help us find where things go...anyways, I was bored one time and was able to bypass the Target Shell and load up the Device's OS. To my surprise, it was running some version of windows. With some research, I found that it is Windows CE. It looks really cool to mess around with.

Here's a link to what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_CE

I was wondering, can we run this on out HTC devices? Compared to what we have at Target, out TP should be superior to their devices.

W5nd6ws CE is windows mobile. its in the same wiki page you posted.

Since then, Windows CE has evolved into a component-based, embedded, real-time operating system. It is no longer targeted solely at hand-held computers. Many platforms have been based on the core Windows CE operating system, including Microsoft's AutoPC, Pocket PC 2000, Pocket PC 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Mobile 6, Smartphone 2002, Smartphone 2003 and many industrial devices and embedded systems. Windows CE even powered select games for the Sega Dreamcast, was the operating system of the controversial Gizmondo handheld, and can partially run on modified Microsoft Xbox game consoles. Windows CE is also the OS used by Micros Fidelio for their IP base Point of Sale terminals.

The original "CE" is probly to outdated to be usful on a regular Computer as its OS.IMHO , Someone please correct me if i am wrong or misread something i have read.

Windows Mobile is running on Windows CE. Your Touch Pro is running WM6.1 correct? That means it's running Windows CE 5.0. Windows Mobile 7 will be using Windows CE 6.0.

LOL those things... I'm sure your GSTL or STL would be THRILLED if they see you do go-backs with your Touch Pro.

But... it has no barcode reader, and I'm sure using the keyboard to put in those UPCs is just as hard as to trying figure out which section those go-backs belong to lol.

(ex-Target cashier here lol)

I kinda new that, but I kinda wanted to put a ROM with the original CE, it just looks cool. No rhyme or reason.

I didn't use their networks, I believe they block ports. I used wmwifirouter to use the net. Didn't really leave any traces...plus, I was in Garden center, no one showed up. haha.

I have a video of the LPDA streamin music and video, it was pretty cool.
