Re: Touch Pro CDMa rom update
maybe some locations you get faster speeds but when its all said and done, currently, evdo rev a speeds kills at&ts 3g network, and definitely kills tmobiles weak network. Maybe if someone isn't in a full evdo rev a location, but if you're getting full rev a and full 3g there is no comparison in speeds at this time. Yes 3g is capable of faster speeds technically, but in the US thats not happening.

and T-Mobile, and their speeds usually rank higher then what I get with Sprint, and if it's not higher the #'s are fairly close. I'm also in a good EVDO rev A network area. anyways, this is getting to be way off topic so I'm done .. too many people in here drinking the CDMA is best, GSM sucks kool aid. Re: Touch Pro CDMa rom update
Perhaps it's my area, but AT&T's 3G HSDPA is much faster (by a factor of 3) from the device itself (although something could be said about Opera vs. PIE) than Sprint's EVDO (The Rev. A status in my area is still pending although the reps at the local store say it's here but there is a lot of tower traffic). Most of my observations come from the TILT vs. the Touch Pro (my iPhone is EDGE only so it's a non-factor).
To those who are concerned with actual call quality, it's really six and one half dozen of the other. GSM uses TDMA modulation which reducaes call quality because bits and pieces of the voice signal are lost more readily in transition (we're talking 2 in every 1000) whereas CDMA modulated voice signals have a slightly lower bandwidth. I don't want to turn this into a carrier debate, but I will say having a GSM service is very beneficial to people like me who constantly switch devices and like to buy unlocked phones without dealing with CDMA activation headaches. Plus the ability to use your phone natively overseas and not have to wait for CDMA carriers to offer 1 or 2 devices that work overseas (a la Niagra, ACE, etc...) for some people is a HUGE advantage that far outweighs any other points. As for the original topic: Who needs an HTC update? We have new radios, and much better and slimmed down ROMs offered by all the hardworking chefs here and at XDA.

explain to me how download speeds arent affected by towers. you cant, without a tower no one is downloading anything. ATT Data speeds suck when compared 2 sprint's |

Re: Touch Pro CDMa rom update
I often test my data speeds, only takes a few seconds (1 or 2 clicks while sitting at my desk) |
