Right, you have a Touch Pro 2. If you'd read this thread, you'd see that no one with a Touch Pro 2 has gotten this to work.

That said, others have gotten the physical method of creating their own cable to work. IE, breaking one of the pins - or wiring two adapters together. If interested, check the other threads on this topic. I've made 2 cables that way - but it's not easy to be honest.

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Get TVout on my Fuze using this method, playing movies using TCPMP... However the QUALITY of the video is considerably poorer (e.g. much more banding) than playing the SAME file (an MPEG1) on my laptop which also has a TVout function, viewing on the same TV.

Is this normal? Any fixes? I'd rather not have to re-encode the many MPEG1 files I have... and obviously it is *possible* to get good quality with these same files...

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Well, at least my question was answered by others, there doesn't appear to be a way to get this working on the TP2. Bummer, I used it a lot on my TP. Thanks for the TP usage time anyway.

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

I have my Tv Out working fine on my TP2. I simply opened up the multitap and cut the blue wire as posted here by isdnmatt:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91682&page=3

After that, just plug and play. No registry edits or cabs needed. For safety sake and compatibility issues I would say to uninstall any tv out cabs and the like before doing. It works from stock just as is this way.

Simply plug your ipod AV cable into the 3.5mm port on the multi-adapter, plug the adapter in the phone, and set the following registry entry to a value of 1:

\HKLM\Software\HTC\H2W\TVOutCableIn

Immediately after it is modified, the Video Out format selection will pop-up. Select the proper format for your display/TV, and it should immediately show up on the big screen in beautiful color with perfect sound.

When you disconnect the multi-adapter, the value of the registry entry will revert to 0.

-----------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: Apparently, not all 3.5 to RCA AV cable have the same pin-out as iPod compatible cables. You must use iPod compatible AV cables or hope that you get lucky with whatever you've got lying around.
-----------------

Software Update (3/4/09):

Added a few cabs for those that don't want to search the thread. techfury90 provided EnableTVOutCab.CAB to flip the registry setting. *TVOutPopUp (OEM and cab), provided by Mylt1 and Mr. Good Cat respectively, add the TV Out Popup if your custom ROM doesn't already have it.
Damn Brilliant Sir!

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

As per my Study
Touch Pro
Touch Pro2
Fuze
all have TV-OUT, and have respective cables online.
If Diamond is tested with this, as mentioned in the thread its good.
there are 70 phones in the market of all OS which have TV-OUT.
HTC Touch Tilt 2 also has TV-Out
thanks
