Car Charger Question with Touch Pro
 

I had purchased a car charger from one of the members on this site and it no longer works with the Touch Pro. Oddly enough it will charge other devices like my moto s9 BT headset. My question is can I use the OEM charger from my Moto S9 BT Headset to charge the HTC Touch Pro. I checked on ebay and there are a huge number of cheap chargers that all list being able to charge BOTH items, and a host of others. I tried connecting it and sure enough it will charge. My question is is charging with the OEM car charger off the Motorola S9 BT Headset safe, and will it not damage my TP or the battery? I realize I could buy another charger, but this one seems to be of very good build quality and if I could use it with no risk on both my Bluetooth Headset and my HTC Touch Pro, that would be a wonderful way to cut back on cords. Please, anyone with info, let me know.

As far as what is listed on the charger itself. All it says is
MOT/RIM (on the cord)

I use other phone chargers on my TP, especially ones from blackberry...maybe try looking for a blackberry charger. Don't know if that answered your question.

the odd thing is I used to have a MotoRazr which has the same USB connection as the Touch Pro, I am unable to use the chargers that I had with the MotoRazr, they do not charge the Touch Pro, not even the car charger. I even had a wall plug adapter that has a USB connection to it, if I plug in the USB cable that came with the Touch Pro, if I used any other USB cable it will not work. Again, this adapter is a Motorola.

I use my old KRZR and Moto Q chargers and they work fine.
The problem I had with the original data cable that came with it was that after a few weeks the usb end started to peel off a little and it still charges but wont work on the computer if I wanted to access data on the phone. The other regular mini usb seem to work fine though.

I use the KRZR car charger too, works fine.

What you may want to do is install a battery monitor utility that will show your charging current. I have compared the charging current of my OEM wall charger and my KRZR car charger and they are about the same. I use the battery monitor that came in the mighty rom, i would post a cab for you but I have no idea what it is, there's no info on it.
