Youtube app not playing full screen
 
I have a Verizon TP.

I had been trying to install Technology1's tcpmp bundle and wound up uninstalling it.

I'm not 100% sure that was the cause, but either way now my Youtube application that I installed doesn't play videos in fullscreen. It playes them in a window that takes up about 1/2 the screen in the center.

I uninstalled both the youtube app and htc streaming media player, then I soft reset. I then installed just the youtube player. When I tried that, the videos did play, but in the small window still. If they were playing at all without the htc cab, it must have been using something else, right? I then installed the htc streaming video cab again and that didn't do anything.

How can I get the youtube player app to play videos in full screen again?

Remove that version and install this one.

That version seems to install a youtube.exe file in my windows dir but no shortcut icon. If I run the exe, nothing happens. Is that only good for the rom in that thread.

Either way, the version I had did have that gears icon and I had selected high quality. If I select fast download, the video is in an even smaller window.

It used to play fine with the app I had, but something broke it.

Any other ideas?

Videos are supposed to appear full screen using the Youtube app, right?

What player is supposed to open up? HTC Streaming Media player or something else?

For me, it's some other player that's opening.

I tried to take a screenshot, but capsure didn't capture the video part of it for some reason.

Basically, I get the video with maybe 1/4" to 1/2" black borders on each side.

The player that opens has a home icon on the top left and a go back icon on the top right. At the bottom, it's got a go to beginning icon on the left, a pause play icon next, then a stop icon and thne and icon with a box and and arrow pointing in at each corner (nothing happens if I click that one other than the icon changes).

The HTC Streaming Media player definitely has a different look to it.

I don't remember if, when it was working, it was using that player.

This can't be right though.
