New Google search - Can you incorperate into the HOME TF3D?

Is there any way to have the search line on the home screen in TF3D
with out disabling the TF3D engine?

Nope, you'd have to use second today or something of that ilk.

Kyrumo- Great idea- Does you advance config let you assign the "Long Press (Send/End/Power) key(s)"? I would like to assign the google mobile there instead of
taking over my "programs" Key.... thanks

Isriam,

Check the link- I love google stuff... enjoy

You only have 1 "Long Press" key that you can edit which is under start/settings/menus and you can apply Google Search to it :-)

Nice! But how would you take it off if you wanted back to normal? And can this be done with the diamond TF3D config or it has to be this program? Cause I don't have that program

To change the long press keys you don't need Advanced Config, goto start/settings/buttons and assign the application that you want to use :-)

You don't need advanced config to map to a softkey just go to
HKLM\Software\Htc\manila
in the registry and change either the RSK path and text or the LSK path and text depending on which side you want the button on
the path is
\Program files\Google Search\googlemobile.exe

edit: here is the cab btw in case anyone needs it

Advanced Config is so much easier then a Reg Edit :-)

Maybe, but it takes all of 20 seconds to do that regedit and I don't have to install anything additional on my device, advance config was a little buggy last time i tried it. but to each there own thats why there is more than one way to do things

I always remove Advanced Config when i'm done with it, and both ways take a app to do it :-)

Re: New Google search - Can you incorperate into the HOME TF3D?

Very true, I was just giving some info to those who may want to do it through the registry. If you don't want to do it that way or it doesn't interest you than by all means install advanced config and uninstall it when your done (although i think at that point the regedit is definetely easier and less time consuming).

Is anyone else having a problem getting this to work on Second Today Screen? The only way i can make it work is click on it when i am on the Second Today then go back to my normal today screen and it shows and works over Manilla.

It's attached on the 2nd page of this thread and yes it works on a stock rom, what application are you interested in doing this for?

I haven't installed it, but on first glance of the screenshots I'd say it's a safe bet that it will search the internet and pull up gmail, google maps, and google news.

Yip that is what it does very nice little app. It is great for quick searches when you don't want to wait for opera to load.

Thanks...I have an app that is a today screen plug in and it would fit real nice where the dark bar and sprint logo is on top of the clock. If someone could help me just a little more, and let me know, 1st if its possible with a today plugin, and then if so, how, I would really appreciate. In the meantime I will play with IT myself and see what I can come up with.

Okurt
Picasa (mobile Web app) :headbang:
Calendar (Mobile web ver)

Well,

Opera still loads - but AFTER you tell it where you want to go with this search app.... or am I missing something?
