i just finished setting up a gmail acct on the messaging
my qustion is when you click Start>messaging>(select gmail acct)>menu> clear"(name of gmail accout) " what does it clear? all messages or just the account?

Clears out all messages in all boxes for that account. Does not delete your account setup!

it even delete mail in the gmail account ? (all)

if you have sprint, it defaults gmail as imap.. the default way it deletes mail is, if you delete it on ur phone it moves it to the server trash.. you can go in and change it to delete it from the server as well, but leaving it the other atleast alows you a little safeguard if u accidently delete soemthing important.. if you change everything over to pop3 then youll gain the option for it to stay in your inbox on server, even if u delete it from your phone.. dont know why u cant do it in imap..
