How to force EVDO over 1x.

First of all you need to get a registry editor.

- Go to HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting

- Look for the file "HiddenModeOperationPage"

- Edit "HiddenModeOperationPage" from 1(default) to 0

Once you have changed the settings exit and go to:

Start > Settings > Phone > Services

You will now notice an option that was not there before "Mode of operation" in it you can choose between 1x only, Hybrid mode(switches from EVDO to 1x if connection is unstable), and EVDO only.

Attention: This method will block all incoming calls and SMS. Only use when needed.

Hope this helps a couple of you :)

So if its in EVDO only you get no internet if EVDO isn't available? Vs dropping back to 1x?

Sounds handy. Kinda like flight mode, only with extra battery drain ;)

So you do this if you want to do a long uninterrupted tethering session I suppose?

Someone should make an easy to use switch for this, so it can be turned on and off.

I don't know what would be the use of that LOL, but feel free to try it and let us know the consequences.
