Instant messenger which doesnt lose messages?

I dont even know how to explain this. Prior to having the TP, i had the Tmobile sidekick which had an awesome instant messaging client. Even if i lost service i would still get any messages after i got it back. Can anyone recommend any IM program that actually does this?
