Re: I know people have talked about this but please help!

Yeah, that is probably the most irritating aspect of it. It can feel soft sometimes when pressing on the screen because of the give.

Have not posted a pic yet, so I will try and figure that out and post one.

OK, hope this works. One is with the light behind it so you can see the gap. The other is just a shot of the side. Took with the wife's cell phone, so hope they are clear enough.

Re: I know people have talked about this but please help!

Not sure. I have read plenty of posts where folks say that is how it was designed and others that say their phone has no gap. It is pretty subjective without pictures I imagine. You are within your 30 days. If I had it to do over, I would go to a Sprint store and check the model for the gap and maybe ask the manager to get a new one out to compare. If there is no gap on the new one, I would make them swap me. If there is a gap, then you are no worse off. As long as you are within the 30 days, you can always give it back. If they all have it, at least you know.

If you go, let me know how they look. I have been meaning to stop by and check just out of curiosity myself.

Re: I know people have talked about this but please help!

Have you tried self exchange http://www.nextel.com/en/services/se...olutions.shtml I bought mine from BB and had it for over a month, did the self exchange and they sent me a new one with a salad battery cover, home button not raised and sliding the keyboard is much smoother but I never noticed the gap till I saw this thread.
my build date is 1/15/2009 and it does have that gap. Now I'm annoyed with it. I press them together then slide and it doesn't affect the sliding, so it has to be a defect that htc ignored.

Did not even know that site was out there. Thanks. When you submitted the request, what all did you list as wrong with the phone? Just curious if they were difficult about cosmetic vs. function. That has been my past experience with Sprint. If it works, they can be difficult after 30 days.

just say what you think not right in the phone, you can add more by text if it doesnt exist in the options.
At first I thought its related with Asurion TEP but I was wrong because when I called Asurion to ask if they received my returned phone so I dont get charged, they told me that I didn't claim for a replacement since 2006. so its basically sprint itself who does the exchange I believe.
