HTC Touch PRO Review - short and sweet.
 
I've had it since the 27th of December, and it is my first real time that I have a PPC (had a q9c before) so... I had a little to learn.

My verdict:
Software - great. absolutely great. i love tf3d, opera, etc. it is a fully fledged phone. i would only ask that they extend tf3d into some other menus, ex: start -> programs, or even better: a HTC-ified messaging "skin"
They did a great job on this.

Hardware - this is where this phone lets me down a bit.
Looks great, however the dpad is absolutely miserable to use. i cant tell if i am pushing left of talk... right or end... this is the worst dpad i've ever used. the screen is fantastic, but there is a significant space between my keypad and my screen. and my slider mechanism is a little off, it can slide only the ottom, or only the top. - i didn't go change out my tp, but I can say: i shouldnt have to. if the phone is this expensive, it should be proper, no creaks, no ifs, no loose stuff, and please a better dpad.


All-in-all, love the phone. Great work, but definitely stuff to improve upon. hope this helps, enjoy.

I agree the D-Pad is a crazy idea on HTC's part... But here is the trick that should help... (if you don't know it).

Press the icons to do what you want (from the icons) and press outside the icons to get the D-Pad action.
