Can't connect Touch Pro via USb
Hi all, I have a Verizon HTC Touch Pro with the stock ROM. It has been working fine since I got it but now it suddenly stopped connecting to a computer via USB. I have tried several USB cables and a few different computers. I never get the USB connection tones and no connection is ever made. I have tried this on computers with and without activesync installed. Charging the phone works fine and I can use the phone's USB port to connect a headset which also works fine so I don't think the port is the problem. Is there anything I may have changed on the phone that would prevent USB connections? Is there anything I can check?

Make sure 'Advanced Network Functionality is unchecked.. Click on 'Start', 'Settings', click on the 'Connections' tab, then the 'USB to PC' icon... Also make sure you have ActiveSync checked if that's what you want to use...

aLSO, go to Program/active sync/ make sure that option to syn pc with usb is checked....that could be it..

Try taking out the sd card. Thats what worked for me.

Thanks, I unchecked that box but still it won't be recognized by a PC. When I plug it into a PC I never get the two tones that a PC makes when a USB device connects. Any other things possible? It is not an activesync issue since the PC isnt even recognizing a USB device has attached.

I had this problem a few days ago and had to re-start my computer and it worked after that.

Try deleting the mobile device from activesync and starting fresh

One other troubleshooting step may be checking device mgr and making sure that driver for sync is showing up where it needs to
