easiest way for me was to start to pry it open with a small jewlers srewdriver at the part where the bug cable goes into the adapter. If you pry it open there and work your way around it will not leave any markings on the adapter then u can just use a little glue to put it back together and it still looks brand new. It is a PITA to get open so be patient.

yes the only thing it modifies is the 3.5mm jack so that no matter if its the video cable or the headphones going into the 3.5 mm jack it will pop up the video out on the screen of course if you are using headphones in the 3.5mm jack you can just dismiss the popup and use phone like normal to listen to music. Doing this mod does nothing to the other 2 headset jacks. They will get detected as a headset and will work accordingly.
