Loose USB Plug?
 

Did a search and came up with a short list of nothing.

I've noticed my phone doing strange things more and more when plugged in.

I use a USB wall adapter and mini USB cable to power the phone at work.
A USB charger charges the phone on the nightstand.

The original "USB" cable syncs the phone to the computer.

The mini USB cables if wiggled will now act as if it's being sync'd and ask if I want connect by ActiveSync / DiskDrive /Internet.

It does not do that with the HTC cable but the USB feels loose with all the cables.

Ideas?

I'm scared the port might be loose, Scared because after some reading and CLOSE scrutiny the only flaw is the left side if the hard keys is raised maybe 1/2mm. Everything else is "perfect" I don't wanna take a chance with an exchange.

i think you'd be better off buying a new cable. the cable that came with my phone is also loose and only charges my phone when plugged into the pc now. i guess the cables been through soo much wear and tear that the usb end is actually starting to pull out
