Replacement Touch Pro missing parts...

Ok, so like an idiot I cracked the screen Monday night on my Touch Pro that I purchased back in November '08. Placed a claim with Asurion yesterday morning, new Pro arrived at work today. Looking over the phone its looks brand new except for the slot where the stylus goes. The switch that turns the phone on when you pull the stylus is missing. I was thinking about calling Sprint to fix it, I really don't want to call and exchange another phone for it, but the switch should be there.

If I were to get a replacement for my phone I would expect a FULLY FUNCTIONAL phone, regardless of how miniscule of a problem something like that may seem.

That sounds like you might have gotten a refurb and they forgot that little piece. Thats a definite return in my book.

Call Asurion and request another phone. Their phones are warranted from any defects for 12 months.

Unrelated edit: I wonder if I can call them and convince them to send me an Alltel TP :P

Thanks, I called Asurion and explained the issue, they are sending out another phone. Messing with the EPST settings, the phone is a refurb (Re-manufactured as they like to call it). I asked if they had any new in the box, they said no. And for some reason now Sprint won't give out MSL codes through chat. Thanks to this forum, that is an easy find.

how about I went through 4 touch pros and the 5th one is refurbished? Now you are like me you dont want a used phone becuz of possilbe later problems with the phone that happened to me twice after being told I was getting a new boxed phone. Can I tell them I was told I was getting a new phone or what? The refurished one has tiny scratches on the front of The phone.

FYI: I had a new touch pro that was not working properly. I took the phone to sprint and they ordered a replacement phone. The phone was in the store 3 days later. I went in to do the exchange and was there approximately 1 hour with the clerk trying to get my service activated on the phone. She tried and then called customer service and tried to activated my phone with instructions from 3 different departments. They finally changed my phone for a new one in the box. My son has a new one right out the box (he's had it about 3 weeks) and had to take it in for malfunctioning. They changed his phone out for a new one in the box. I love this phone, but I believe it has a lot fof unctionality issues. Just in case you did not know, sprint is replacing malfunctioning mogul phones wih the touch pro (free) and brand new.

u shld definitely call them and complain.. and throw in that something else is wrong with it... i did that when i got my 6700(long ago) and they sent me a brand my phone with the box and charger and all

Replacement Pro arrived today, new in the retail sprint box too! Now I have extra earbuds, cables, etc.
