Cool GPS on TP

What GPS works best on the TP? Are there any GPS cabs out there?

Re: GPS on TP

If you dont mind paying some money, I would go with Garmin. I've tried TomTom and the display and features Garmin offers are much better..If you want to go with something free you can give Live Search or Google Maps a try.

Re: GPS on TP

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for? The phone already includes Live Search, you can install Google Maps, Garmin XT, TomTom, etc.

Re: GPS on TP

EDIT: ^ heh, you guys are fast.
I use iGO8, works great on my TP. You would have to buy it though. I don't know if your looking for a free one. But there are quite a few out there that work on the TP, garmin, tom tom, just to name a couple. I don't know if there are any free ones out there except for google maps.

Re: GPS on TP

Hmm. Well, what's best for one isn't necessarily best for another. What are you specifically looking for in a GPS program? I personally use TomTom 6 and love it. It isn't VGA, but it still looks nice on my VGA screen.

Re: GPS on TP

Everyone is going to have their own opinion on which is the best. So I would try a few out and see which you find the best.

I see your on Sprint, what's wrong with the Sprint Navigation (TeleNav)? I mean, it does come preloaded on the phone from Sprint. Just curious.

Re: GPS on TP

Yeah honestly the BEST GPS in my opinion is TeleNav... voice-guided, no maps to update, and I personally think its well worth the 10 bucks a month (or free if you have SE)

Re: GPS on TP

Telenav is good, until you get a phone call when you are in the middle of no where. When you answer, your maps are gone (uses a data connection to navigate). Same with google maps and live search. IF you plan on using your phone while you are navigating, you need to have the maps on your phone.

That being said, TomTom, Garmin and Igo would probably be your best bet.

I like Garmin because it has the google search built in, eliminating the need to constantly update your POIs. Only problem is that it lags worse than TomTom on the Touch Pro

TomTom, while it is not as versatile as Garmin, runs better on the TP and will not have you missing turns.

Test a few out and go for your favorite!
