Using my HTC as a Modem

I am trying to set up my HTC Fuze as a modem...
I click connect and the status says "WAITING FOR NETWORK." After a few seconds, the 3G box will get a balloon that says THE REMOTE PARTY HAS ENDED THIS CONNECTION with an options for settings...within the settings is where I saw where it may need an ACCESS POINT NAME. So if that isn't needed, I wonder what is up?

Re: Using my HTC as a Modem

u cant just plug and play.....try reading some threads first next time, before posting a topic that is in the PRO room like 30times over..

use ICS reg edit..if u have custom rom, usually its included
usePDA net
use wmwifirouter

there ya go, thats the 3 main choice for phone as modem...

dont ask "how do i use those".. search, go read, educate yourself on ppcs, im willing to bet theres over 50 threads on PPC about "tethering" ...

Is there anything wrong with trying to give people information in a respectful way? I understand people get frustrated with repeated questions and what not, but you don't have to belittle whoever makes the post, especially if they are a new member.

Thanks for going to bat for me...i did a search and it didn't return what I was looking for (perhaps didn't search with the "key" keyword)...so i made a post...this doesn't help me much as I don't have a hacked rom.

Crazychef: You need to lighten up. I'm seeing your angry posts everywhere. If you don't want to respond to someone's question, fine, however your angry rants are inappropriate and unneccessary.

Re: Using my HTC as a Modem

heres 2 cabs.. i dont know if thats the newest pda..

thats wmwifi v120, there is a v125 as well

i use wmwifi, it does everything for you, but its only 21day trial.. 30 bucks once after if u wanna keep it..

you said FUZE, so im guessing ATT, i have sprint so the reg hack cab i have i imagine doesnt work for ya.. i searched for it, didnt find one specifically for fuze, amybe xda does...

and for anyone who cares to lecture me on my attitude.. there was just 174 threads when i checked using MODEM in their titles(and almost all were about "how to tether").....id say thats a tad bit more than a "few" reposts of same thing..

so yeah i tend to get angry when people say they searched an obviously didnt(or they didnt try more than once usuin diff words)
