Former Q owner having trouble with Pro

I just bought an Alltel Touch Pro. So far it is leaps and bounds above my original Q. I have searched on these questions but am a little confused on some things.
Firstly, I am trying to set up my Today screen to my liking. I downloaded the TF3D Config and installed a theme from freewareppc. It seemed to install (though it gave the usual "unknown publisher" warning). Are there specific themes for Touch Pro? Do I need to unlock my phone for unsigned programs? Also when I go into the native today editor and change things it doesn't stick. Everything goes back to default. I had Facade on my Q. I'd rather keep this phone as clean (not overflowing with apps) as possible. Where can I get themes that will work on the Pro?
Also I was under the impression that Live Search would work for the locate me feature. How do I make this work without paying extra to Alltel for it?
TIA for helping, and sorry if these questions have been done to death.

Re: Former Q owner having trouble with Pro

Normal PPC themes (e.g. .tsk) will only effect the top bottom bars on the today screen is TF3D is running.

If TF3D is check on the today screen settings, it will automatically uncheck everything else. You cannot run TF3D with any other today program.

You only need to unlock your phone if you are planning to flash a new ROM (ROMs are customized operating systems)

I don't know if Altell has their GPS locked down.

Okay that worked, sort of. Why doesn't the theme I downloaded and installed show up? Is there no way to have TF3D running and my calendar expanded, i.e. today and tomorrow's appointments showing on today screen? Should I bite the bullet and get Facade for PPC? Would that even do it?

Did you uncheck TF3D in the setting menu before using TF3D Config to change the theme?

The only way to get the calendar to show more appointments is to use a second today screen by using the program "Second Today". It will allow you to switch back and forth with not problems from your TF3D Today screen to a Standard Windows Mobile Today screen with your calendar in full view.
