Sprint TV connects, Opera and email doesn't
 

I've spent countless hours on the phone with sprint tech support level 2. They are going to send me out a new phone but I don't think that will fix the issue. I have done the fix with changing the active profile from 0 to 1. I have hard reset my phone. Issue i'm having is that if i'm on opera, data will drop after a minute and weather or email won't work. If I go to sprint TV it works no problem. After I reset the phone it will work for opera but then after a minute I get the "Error! Could no locate remote server". Sprint tried reprovisiong where I cleared all the info in my MSL setting and re-input it but after a minute or 2 the same thing happens. Wonder if anyone can help searched the forums couldn't find any answers.

What is your service like? Are you jumping between Sprint and Roaming? I used to have similar problems with my mogul and I would have to soft reset or make sure the program wasn't still running in task manager from an earlier browse. I also sometimes would have to clear my history and cookies.

There is a virus going around that believe it or not is hiding in USB devices including printers that have ram memory for job storage. Maybe this could have snuck onto your device. Could be preventing the browser from opening and thats why TV works and not browser??? Just throwing ideas out.

My service is pretty good, i'm in NYC went up to Vermont for a weekend and it was still doing the same thing over there. I have my phone service set to sprint only, and data roam guard:Always ask. I tried IE it also would work after a minute and then drop. The issue is this isn't consistently happening. I will try to uninstall the jetcet print printer to see if that works.

Hi Bagbklyn, I’m Erin, a Sprint-Nextel techsupport rep. If the issue was caused by the virus that Vesty suggested all you would have to do is a hard reset, but I presume they tried that already before ordering you a new phone. Since they are replacing your phone, the new one should have all the software in working order. Thanks for choosing Sprint-Nextel!

we havent experienced any of those issues in our service and repair center, usually correcting your active profile to 1 and updating the data profile will work , but , sprint tv, and opera browser are both java apps, you may have a problem with java apps only...

ready now support is always the best to correcting problems also sometimes when i call tech support it all depends on who you talk to.

They sent a new phone and I'm know longer having the issues. What you said seems true with java because IE didn't work also, sprint TV worked, but after a couple minutes if I logged off and logged back on it wouldn't allow me to connect. The same issue would happen with the weather updates. But the new phone seems to be working okay

SprintTV and Opera are not java... Opera Mini yes not Opera Mobile.

I never include Java on any of my roms and never had an issue using either.

I had the same issue with the data connection. Weather wouldnt update in TF3D etc.
This happened to me when I first switched from my mogul to my touch pro. Countless hours with tech support. I think I had to do the reg edit in TouchPro Essentials to get the data working. This past time it happened which was 2 days ago I got a new Pro this time I was able to get it working having Customer Service reset something whatever they did then I updated my profile and everything worked.
