New Touch Pro User

Hey guys.Long time reader first time poster here.Probably gonna get bashed for not doing extensive research before posting, but im in a bit of a rush.Just got a Touch Pro today from Advanced Exchange and finally got rid of my 5TH Mogul!Right out the gates i tried using PIMBackup to transfer my contacts and other info and the phone gave me an error message halfway through and ended the program only transferring a portion of my info.Also, when i use the phone my speaker sounds like straight crap.Almost sounds like more sound is coming from the top speaker or the person is really far away.I did two hard resets and still have the problem.Im not ready to jump into any custom roms yet, but i have a brand new phone im ready to jump into and have no clue where to start.Still haven't transfered my contacts yet!Any suggestions would be great! thanks

first off, hard reset. theres volume fixes in the touch pro essentials thread. cant you just sync your contacts over? http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42730

I am not sure on the backup/restore problem. Do you still have the mogul to try backing up with another program and restore with it as well?

As far as the speaker, honestly I am not impressed with the TP speakerphone. I have swapped out my phone 3 times and all of them have had poor quality speakerphone.

You might consider taking the phone in to a sprint repair store and let them take a look. Get it swapped if need be.

thanks for the quick replys.Im using a Mac and didn't think that active sync will work unless i was running a windows OS?Also, the sound still hasnt gotten better after a third HARD reset.It honestly feels like the voice is coming out of the speakerphone when im in a call.I have a sprint store near by should i swing by and see what they can do?And yes, i still have the mogul with all my information on it.Im waiting to send it back until i figure out this new device.

I had the same problem from mogul to TP. I am using PimBackup 2.8 as well. It would load like the first 20 contacts and thats it. In your restore option in PIMBackup, make sure you select delete all existing contacts and replace. This worked like a charm!

I really didn't want to use active sync or beam 200 single contacts because my mogul wouldn't let me select all!

As far as your audio issue, I too hated the sound quality. I installed the .cab listed above and it helps out tons! I used to low boost not the highest. Didn't want to ruin my speakers.
