Hardware Keyboard not working

Randomly my hardware keyboard will stop working and my phone runs SUPER slow. Seems like something is using all the RAM but the task manager still shows 50% available. I can't track down why this is happening but this even happened after a hard reset and I didn't install any programs. What's weird is that the only remedy I found is just to wait it out. Turning the phone off doesn't help.

I know this may be a hardware problem but was wondering if anyone else was also having this issue. I have insurance so I'm not too worried but I absolutely HATE going to the sprint store or dealing with the repair center.

FWIW I'm using a custom rom and the Telus 1.04.05V radio.

Try another Custom ROM, if it is a hardware issue it would react the same way. Otherwise it may just be a bad installation?
Good Luck... i know how it sucks to be out of a working phone for a while... =T

I would try to get it replaced if I were you. Not sure if you will be able to get a new one, that's the only thing that sucks.

But I believe you get a brand new phone if you go through Asurion or whatever.

If you are experiencing problems now, may as well get it replaced.

Rockstar had the same problem though. Check out this thread:

I have had two similar failures.
I posted about my first one a few months ago.
My third phone has been fine so far.

A hard reset would sometimes fix mine, but only for a short time.

BB exchanged mine both times, without issue.

Ya getting a refurbished unit would really suck. Especially since I bought this when it first came out and paid 299 + a 2 yr extension.

I looked through that thread and now I'm thinking about doing the online Advanced Exchange. Would it matter if my phone is unlocked? Obviously I'll switch back to the Sprint ROM but I don't want to send them my phone and then get hit with a penalty..

I've read on this forum about people returning unlocked phones with no problems. If you know how to lock it, then I would just to be safe. But I don't think it will be a big deal since you can't really tell without knowing what you are looking for.

Went ahead with the online Advanced Exchange program.

Big thanks to blazinazn for the very helpful link. I really hate dealing and wasting my time with the Sprint store.

Thanks again! Now I have to see if I get a "rephurbed' unit.. (see thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=50331)

So I ordered a replacement phone through the online Advanced Exchange yesterday and guess what came in this morning? A brand new TP!

Sprint finally did something right :lol

My phone is having the same issues.. Got the phone from best buy when it first came out.

Is there any way to confirm the phone from advance exchange will NOT be a refurb. Called customer service and tried going to the store to no avail..

From what it sounds like, you get a brand new phone.
