Re: VS Benchmark

well, I think we need a better benchmark, because my current rom is way faster than stock roms, and I score less than what you guys are scoring

Re: VS Benchmark

please try adjusting your glyphcache and see if that makes a difference. i believe our custom reg edits are affecting the #'s we're seeing.

Re: VS Benchmark

Model: Sprint HTC Touch Pro
ROM Ver: stock Sprint, latest
Config: Normal

Graphics: 2219
Other: 2090
JPEG: 4712
Games: 1779
Sound: 1269

Score: 2413

We need better benchmarks for this to be really valuable, this app kinda sucks (no offense to OP, this is a great idea and effort)

What is better for benching WinMo?? I haven't messed with anything, we need a comprehensive suite of benches for all the different things we can measure. Frankly the things this app are doing are multimedia related, and pretty much just exercise the video driver and CPU.

More data = better, we can do fancy graphs if necessary to see the interesting trends.

Re: VS Benchmark

lol i've already posted 3-4 times about what you need to try and adjust to see how it affects your scores but no one has done it. I think the app works fine, and posting what settings you're using it on can help determine the best results. gdi/GLYPHCACHE/limit being set low on the Alltel stock rom would probably be why they see higher scores than custom roms.

Re: VS Benchmark

Juggalo TP Rom V0.08

Glyph cache is HIGHLY modified, and huge. Rom is tweaked as usual.

i don't know why you all score so low. i always get at the very least 2600 every time. my best was just under 2800

This just shows that these phone's speed vary even with similar mods.

My previous benchmark tests were using a 128kb glyphcache yet they were quite below average. I am currently running Juggalo v0.08 with a 128kb (131072 dword right?) glyphcache and have added the results below..

For some damn reason, my music is usually higher than average while having the slowest ppc in this post. Maybe my tp is broken. On stock rom, it was unusable. I mean 30 seconds to 1 minute random lag times. LOL opening the windows folder was a trip to a soft reset so while WAYYY better than it was, this benchmark says that it is still slow. Fortunately, I happy with it's speed as what It was before.

here is the results

Juggalo v0.08 with 128kb glyphcache.

Re: VS Benchmark

I ran my test with the same rom with only the change the limit config. Maybe we can narrow down whats giving such different results

Ok here goes, with the settings:
File System cache :Enabled
System cache size :8MB
System filter Casche: 131072 sectors
Glyph cache: 128KB

The results were 2090

With the new settings:
File System cache :Enabled
System cache size :2MB
System Filter cache :4096 sectors
Glyph cache :still 128kb

I got
