Would adding a composite to Svideo connector to a video out cable have any impact on the quality of the externally displayed video?

It won't make the picture any better or worse. Since your TV has to split it anyway, its a useless add-on

The difference between composite video and Svideo is minimal. They are both analog signals. The only thing you might see change is the color accuracy since s-video uses three channels for video. However, the video out on the TP uses only one channel to output its video, so even using an adapter would be useless.
