MP3 Ringtone Formatting...

Folks,
I found out through a little tinkering that the Sprint Touch Pro requires the following string in front of whatever .mp3 file you give it to play as a ring tone: RT_

I stumbled on this because I like to make perfect loops in Peak LE and then use them as ringtones. I tried using the TF3D settings app to make my selection of my newly looped .mp3 file but it didn't like it. These files live in the \My Documents\My Ringtones folder on the device btw. Anyways, after appending the "RT_" to the filename (ex. RT_Jump.mp3) everything seems to function normally. Not sure why it works this way, but that is what I have found so far.

Anyone else aware of other limitations or constraints when using alternative audio file types for ringtones?

Cheers!

Ive had just being using regular mp3 files. Haven't found that the filename needs to be changed for the phone to recognize it.

I think he means it won't loop unless you add that to the file name. Good find. Personally, I just make longer ringtones so there is no need to loop. Yeah that takes up more space, but I don't need it as of right now anyway, I only have a few custom tones.

Again, good find.
